5 Festive Outfit Ideas to Elevate Your Holiday Style

When thinking about holiday outfits, the first question to ask ourselves is how we want to feel, what we want to achieve, and for which occasion we are choosing our outfit.

During the holidays, we need outfits for family or friend gatherings during the day, in the afternoon, or for evening celebrations. Festivals, New Year’s, and Christmas holidays, the fact that we meet with the same friends and family on multiple occasions, and the desire to dress differently for these events, push us into looking for new clothes for each one. However, we can almost always achieve the desired result with the clothes we already have in our closet.

Flowy Skirt

If you love wearing a flowy skirt during spring and summer, that same skirt can serve as inspiration for a festive outfit in winter. To wear such a skirt in winter, pair it with warm tights of 100 to 120 dens, or snug and warm leggings.

When the skirt is multicolored, choose a shirt, turtleneck, or sweater in one of the colors that appear on the skirt.

If the skirt is monochromatic and you have a blouse or turtleneck in the same color, this outfit will make you feel feminine and elegant.

If you don’t have knee-high boots and usually wear ankle boots, make sure the flowy skirt is longer, at least below the calves. Ideally, it should reach the ankle boots. However, if there’s no snow or rain, pair it with patent leather shoes to create an interesting outfit.

With knee-high boots, a warm coat, or a long winter jacket that reveals the skirt, you’re ready for coffee with friends or a visit to your loved ones. This combination, even though it’s made from clothes already in your closet, will be new and unexpected, something they’re not used to seeing you in.

Monochromatic outfit

If you have a habit of buying single-colored clothing items, create monochromatic outfits, which is when all clothing items are in the same color. This way, you will achieve an elegant, refined, and, even an exceptionally luxurious look if you choose the right materials.

It’s not necessary for it to be a two-piece dress or for the top and bottom to be made of the same material. Thin summer blouses with interesting or simple cuts are now welcome. Feel free to combine summer blouses made of viscose or silk with woolen sweaters and fabric trousers or skirts. Not only can flowy summer skirts be worn, but flowy dresses can also be worn in this situation, combined with a mohair or cashmere sweater.

Velvet

Holidays are a great opportunity for a shimmering accessory or clothing item to be the focal point of the outfit. Wear it in a classic, romantic, and even casual outfit with jeans, achieving a smart casual look.

Colors and Patterns

Playing with colors and patterns contributes to a good mood. Plaid patterns remind us of winter and winter holidays. Red and dark green shades of clothing, combined with beige and golden accessories, evoke the feeling of New Year’s celebrations.

Classic

And of course, if you love a classic style and predominantly have classic clothing in your closet, a skirt or trousers combined with a quality viscose or silk shirt and matching accessories are a “safe” outfit choice. A simple or formal black dress is always suitable for special occasions, but it should be complemented with attractive accessories or a blazer.
